St. Vincent & the Grenadines is one of those all too rare, virtually undiscovered dive destinations. The diving ranges from the gentle, even lazy, to the exhilarating, and efforts are always made to ensure that you never dive the same dive site twice... unless, of course, you want to! Most of the dive sites are close to the dive shop bases, a mere ten or fifteen-minute boat ride away. Others, however, may require a slightly longer journey, but one that's filled with the most beautiful Caribbean scenery in the region. And all are well worth the trip. Due to the sharply rising shorelines, there is no shore diving here and this helps to keep the sites in pristine condition. All the dive boats are well equipped, easily accessible and captained by experienced and helpful staff. The dives are Divemaster-led, and this helps to enhance not only maximum diver safety, but also maximum diver enjoyment. Petit St. Vincent is amongst a host of small islands surrounded by teeming coral reefs and sandy islands. All can be reached in a few minutes in Grenadine's Dive’s high speedboats. In addition to the reefs that you'll see from your cottage, there are many others, which are 30 to 40 feet deep. Most reefs are surrounded by white sand, which catches the sunlight and makes the underwater colors bright and clear, with panoramas that barely fade in the distance. The dives are relaxing and easy but more adventurous ones are offered as well. Glenroy runs an efficient operation catering to individuals or small groups. They will help you choose the dives best suited for you no matter what your ability. All instructors are NAUI or PADI professionals and instruction is available–from resort courses to full certification. You can choose among single dives, two tank dives, 5 dive packages, 10 dive packages, night dives and snorkeling. This introductory course is approximately 3 hours.
